Emphasis is on technical skills necessary to perform personal care to complex patients, implementation of selected portions of care plan including respiratory services, rehabilitation services, EKG, and phlebotomy under the supervision of registered nurses.

Students will be trained to perform clinical skills such as blood collection, EKG's, catheterization, recording vital signs and patient treatments, and other tasks related to patient care. Graduates of the Patient Care Technician program can expect to find employment opportunities in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and placement agencies.

The program also includes fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, medical ethics, equipment and safety. Students graduate with a Certificate of Completion and are ready to begin a medical career as a PCT in pre or post-operative care, pediatrics or even the Emergency Room!

The Patient Care Technician program will provide you with training to perform clinical tasks such as:

• Collecting specimens.
• Performing electrocardiograms (EKGs).
• Completing catheterizations.
• Recording vital signs and patient treatments.
